  knowledge, attitude and practice of mothers trying to prvent febrile convulsion in children in Arak       Sajadi Hazaveyee M [1] , Shamsi M [2] *     Received: 25 April, 2010 Accepted: 27 July, 2010    Abstract: Background & Aims: Febrile convulsion affects three to five percent of children under six years old. Considering the important role of mothers in controling the disease, the present study was carried out to assess the knowledge, attitude and practice of mothers referring to health centers of Arak to prevent febrile convulsion in children. Materials & Methods: This descriptive-analytical and cross-sectional study was carried out on 100 women referring to health centers. A well prepared questionnaire was completed by mothers and the data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, chi-squire and ANOVA. Results: The mean age of mothers and children was respectively 27 ±5 years and 18.5 ±7 months. Parent’s knowledge about febrile in children was less than average and mothers also had poor control of the seizures.
