Dietary Pattern Based on RDA Effective Factors on the   Elderly people in Urmia in 1383   G. A mirzadeh [1] , N. A mirzadeh [2] S. Salari [3]     Abstract:     Introduction: The goal of this study is determination of various nutrients consumption that are needed for the elderly and comparing it with the recommended Dietary Allowances (RDA). Also we introduced the factors that affect nutrient intakes in Urmia‑lran.   Methods & Material: 330 elderly people assessed according to their dietary nutrient intakes by 24 hour recall for three days. Dietary intakes were evaluated by FPII software package. The software outputs were compared with RDA standard tables of values. Average of consumption, percent of consumption efficacy and number of the elderly whose intakes was less than RDA recommendation were calculated.   Results: The results showed that the average of energy intake was, 1449.37 +458.44 kcal/day, Protein was 50.91 " 17.80 gr/day, hat 38.48 " 17.15 gr/day and fibber 9/95 " 4/81 gr/day. The average intake of different vitamins were as follows vit A 371.78 mg, vit B 1.13 mg, vit B2, or riboflavin 0.82 mg, vit B3 14.44 mg, vit B6 0.05 mg, vit B 12 1.36 mg, vit C 42.45 mg and vit E 10.42 mg.   The averages of daily minerals were as follows Ca 452.46 mg, K 1486.04 mg, Zn 3.34, Na 423.93 mg.   Discussion: Different reports show that elderly people don't receive the prescribed amount of nutrients based on RDA in most parts of Iran.   Our study also proved that dietary is related to different physiological economical and social factors which are sometimes not in avoidable, so some strategies should be devised to support and educate elderly people therefore, improving and reforming their dietary as a part of our country's nutrition plan is recommended.   Key words: Nutrients consumption, 24 hour recall, The Elderly Address: Public Health Department, Pardis Nazloo Road, Urmia   [1] Instructior of family health, Urmia University of Medical Sciences   [2] Instructior of Nursing, Urmia University of Medical Sciences   [3] Associate Professor of Epidemiology, Urmia University of Medical Sciences
