Background & Aims: Rehabilitation centers’ workers are in a high risk of acquiring intestinal parasitic diseases through their contact with patients who are not able to observe their personal hygiene. The aim of the present study is to assess the extent of their knowledge about parasitic diseases and their transmission routes and control measures.Materials & Methods:  A questionnaire was designed including questions about basic information, knowledge, and perception of staff of rehabilitation centers of Urmia and filled during interviews. The collected data were analyzed using statistical tests.Results: The mean age of interviewed personnel was 31.6 years and 50% declared their unawareness on transmissible infectious diseases. Just 27% had attended courses on this regard. Also 50% and 62% were satisfied of their job and directors’ function, respectively. The answer of others to these two questions was moderate (23% and 16%) and weak (27% and 22%).Conclusion: Considering relatively weak knowledge, training of rehabilitation centers’ staff on intestinal parasitic diseases and importance of their control seems to be essential. This way they would be able to stop transferring parasites to community and especially to their own family.
