  The effect of family–centered empowerment model on quality of life of hemodialysis patients     Salahi Sh [1] *, Javanbakhtian R [2] , Hasheminia SAM [3] , Habibzadeh H [4]     Received: 21 Sep, 2011 Accepted: 29 Nov, 2011   Abstract   Background & Aims : Improving and maintaining quality of life in hemodialysis patients needs strong support of family. This study aimed to study the effects of family-centered empowerment model on quality of life in hemodialysis patients.   Materials & Methods : This semi quasi-experimental study was done on 99 hemodialysis patients. After considering age, sex, education level, and rate of dialysis per weeks, they were divided into two groups of case and control. Family empowerment program was performed in case group for 6 months. A standard questionnaire was used to assess the quality of life by both groups before and after the intervention. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-test and paired t-test.   Result : Based on independent t-test, mean score of quality of life in case group in dominations such as physical functioning, activity limitation due to the difficult physical, vitality, body pain and general health had statistical significant difference(p
