Emotional Intelligence and its Application in Nursing Habibpour Z [1] , Khorami markani A [2] Abstract Background; Aim: Emotional work has widely been accepted in Medical literature as part of nursing however, the contribution of emotional intelligence in nursing context requires further study. This paper aims to present an analysis of essays on emotional intelligence and consider the value and importance of emotional intelligence to nursing. Method & Materials: A Review of literature was done using the internet and search terms used were 'emotions', 'intelligence', 'emotions and intelligence' and 'Emotional intelligence in nursing'. A hand‑search of relevant journals and significant references were added to the data. Results: Emotional intelligence plays an important part in forming successful human relationships. Emotional work is important in establishing therapeutic nurse‑patient relationships. The potential value of emotional intelligence in this emotional work is an issue that still needs to be explored. Conclusion: Analysis of the literature suggests that the modem demands of nursing draw on the skills of emotional intelligence to meet the needs of direct patient care and the significance of these needs should be recognized in nurse education. The prospect that there may be advantages to both nurses and patients is a motivating factor for future researchers. A Survey on Viewpoints of Emergency Ward Staff in Teaching Hospitals of Qazvin University of Medical Sciences N. Peiravi [1] , Sh. Shams [2] , B. Delgoshai [3] Abstract: Introduction: Without having an active emergency and trauma center, no hospital can serve effectively because the effectiveness of other hospital services depends on the function of this part. The current study has been done to compare the management of the emergency ward in Qazvin teaching hospitals. Methods & Materials: This comparative study has pursued the staff 's viewpoints of emergency ward managements. All staff that work in emergency ward were included in this study. The information was collected through a questionnaire based on general hospital assessment checklists of ministry of health. The questionnaire included four parts: Planning and organizing, personnel training, activity and operation of emergency ward, and available space and equipment. Results: The results of this study showed that the staff 's viewpoints of emergency ward management in the mentioned four parts, in comparison with existing standards, in hospital number 4, 1, 2 and 3 were respectively 61.04%, 57.38%, 57.15%, 50.93%. Conclusion: The findings show that there are some deficiencies in emergency ward management in comparison with standards of ministry of health, so there is need to a special and continuous attention in order to improve as much as possible. A Survay of Health Problems among the Elderly Patients of Medical Teaching and Private Centers of Urmia N. Amirzadeh [1] , E. Amirzadeh [2] , J. Amirzadeh [3] Abstract: Introduction: Oldness is accepted as a certain event and has many social and psychological aspects. It is estimated that by 2025, number of elder population will be more than one billion. Because of the special structure of our population, we have not faced oldness problem very seriously in Iran, but in future we will terribly face it. Preparing a plan of actions is necessary to solve this problem, so it is needed to know about their current problems and requirements. So this research is done to study the health problems among the elderly patients of medical teaching centers of Urmia. Methods & Material: This research is cross‑sectional and retrospective. 1215 patients that referred to all private and public hospitals of Urmia in 1382 were selected by convenience sampling method. Data gathering tools were some questionners including 2 parts and their reliability had been controlled and questioners were filled by all the patients. Descriptive statistics were used to clarify our research aims. Results: The research showed that the majority of patients were males (54.4%) and were 65‑70 years old. The most common problem was cardiovascular diseases (41%) and the least common problem was otolaryngology and above all cerebra vascular problems that mostly led to death. Discussion: As the background of cardiac problems begin from childhood so the health authority of our country should try to create the necessary educational courses for families to reduce its consequences in oldness. Mirmohammadi [5] , A. Hagshenas [6] Abstract: Introduction: Cerebro vascular accident (stroke) is the primary neurologic problem in the world. It is the third ranking cause of death. Stroke causes a wide variety of neurologic deficits in patients. Nursing intervention along with rehabilitation care play important roles in recovery of patients. It is also rasied to decrease complications of stroke. Therefore, We carried out a stu0dy titled on investigation of the Nursing intervention and rehabilitation program on life quality of patient with stroke in urmia sity in 1384. Methods & Materials: This study is an experimental study (before‑ after interventions), and was done on (N=20) hospitalized patients with stroke in neurologic ward of Motahari hospital. We used simple random sampling method and data was gathered by quality of life questionnaire in four domains (Physical, psychological, social function and general health) before and after intervention. Analysis of the data was done by using t‑ test and pair t‑ test. Results: The findings indicated that mean score related to quality of life domains (physical function, cognitive and social function and general health) increased after nursing intervention and rehabilitation program (P=0/05) and also data before and after intervention showed significant increase. (P=0/05). Consultation: The Data showed using nursing intervention and rehabilitation programs have positive effects on quality of life domain and these facilities should be provided for patients with stroke because patient and family education along with such programs help patients to become more independent in future. A Survey on Teacher ' s Idea about Taking Care of Elder Parents In Urmia in 1383 S. Ahangarzadehrezaee [1] , H. Khalilzadeh [2] Abstract: Introduction: Aging is a part of growning process and a time for challanges. In the last decades the older adult population (Those 65 years of age and older) has increasingly grown. It is expected that it will nearly cover 20‑22% of problems population of world. Although most of elderly people prefer to live independently but financial, functional status and physical health may dictate consideration of alternative housing option that provides a more protective and supportive environment where appropriate life circumstance is provided, they will be independent and hopeful. Methods & Materials: This survey is a descriptive study to assess teacher's idea related to takeing care of parents. Data was gathered by a questionnaire that was taken from the Internet. Samples were female teachers who worked in high schools. The study samples were chosen by purposive sampling method. Results: Results showed that most of the samples (orderly 56.7%) were in the range of 40-49 years old, 96.7% were married, 80% had two children, 90% licentiate's degree, 70%, had income more than 180/000 Rials and 86.7% had their own homes and so 90% of samples believed that "they were doing everything for elder parents", 86.7% said "they were helping them in financial matters", 66.7% claimed "they were taking care of them at theirs homes", 56.7% said "they were providing independent house for them", 46.7% believed "they were providing care giver to them", 16.7% wanted to send them to nursing houses. Discussion: According to survey results, researchers suggest that educational system tries to improve social knowledge related to geriatric and family so that they can accept them in their houses. They must provide a centre for geriatrics that respects them and gives confidence.
