Abstract
Background & Aims: Chronic renal failure disease is considered as one of the highest causes for mortality rate in Iran that affects on physical, psychological and social health aspects of patients. Various treatments like hemodialysis prolong the life of these patients, but they must tolerate many complications in many aspects. Due to the interactional and cultural nature, social support sounds to be vital and necessary to be investigated in patients.
The aim of this study was to highlight perceived personal social support in hemodialysis wards as experienced by patients with chronic renal failure.
Materials & Methods: A grounded theory approach was used in this qualitative research. Key informants were 22 patients who were treated by hemodialysis. Three nurses, 4 general practitioners, a specialist and two family members participated in the study, and they were interviewed from April to September 2012. Interviews were guided to unveil the perception of the drastic changes in their existence, needs for social support for the disease complications, and hemodialysis as a treatment process. Purposive sampling was done up to data saturation. Data analysis was done based on Strauss and Corbin method. Constant comparison analysis was done until data saturation.
Results: The research results appeared in 3 steps. In the first step, five main themes from 993 first codes were explored based on the meaning of general themes including “threats caused by disease and hemodialysis ", “searching for a social support", “attained social support”, “subjective values and beliefs”, and " acquired social support".
Conclusion: The qualitative research completed our knowledge about patients’ needs and problems for social support. This issue reveals many problems for supporting the patients that are experienced by health team members, family members and social organizations. The findings reveals that individual experiences must be considered if social support should be done, and if health providers and policy makers consider these items in health facilities.

Abstract
Background ;Aims : Regarding the importance of physical activity in preventing blood pressure disease, this study was done with the goal of comparing walking and selected aerobic exercise on blood pressure in inactive postmenopausal women (age=56.61±5.88).
Materials and Methods: In this study, 45 healthy overweight postmenopausal women were randomly divided into 3 groups of 15 selected aerobic training, walking and control. First, the heart rate was measured (80.47±15.04), then maximal oxygen consumption (22.65±1.46) and the body dimensions, including body mass index (28.74±1.78), and then systolic and diastolic blood pressure values were studied. Time and intensity of exercise were identical for two groups. Increasing intensity of 50-70% of maximum heart rate was in 12 weeks, 30 to 90 minutes, and 5 times a week (30 minutes at 50% MHR intensity for the first week and 90 minutes of 70 percent MHR in the last week). After the training period, systolic and diastolic blood pressure values were measured again and the data were analyzed with the dependent T-test, MANOVA and TUKY follow-up test.
Results: The results indicate that differences between exercise and control groups were significant. Accordingly, the results of walking and selected aerobic exercise had significant effects on reducing systolic and diastolic mean blood pressure, and there was significant difference in systolic blood pressure values between two groups after 12 weeks. As the walking group showed higher mean.
Conclusion: This study showed that aerobic exercise, either walking or in the form of selected aerobic exercise causes decrease in the mean of systolic and diastolic blood pressure in postmenopausal women, among which walking indicates greater effectiveness.

Abstract
Background ;Aims : The present paper aims at investigating the relationship between social capital and its dimensions with mental health among Kohdasht nursing staff as well as determining each dimension’s contribution to predict their mental health.
Materials & Methods: The study is applied in terms of aim and descriptive-correlational in terms of data collection method. The target population consists of all Kohdasht nursing staff which amounts to 161nurses. A sample of 113 was randomly selected. A researcher-made questionnaire of social capital and general health questionnaire (GHQ-28) with reliability of 0.87 and 0.94 respectively were implemented for data collection. To analyze the data, descriptive and inferential techniques such as frequency, correlation and regression were applied.
Results: According to the findings, there is a positive relationship between social capital and nurses’ mental health. In addition, it was revealed that there is a positive relationship between social capital dimensions and nurses’ mental health. Findings also revealed that relational and cognitive social capital could predict nurses’ mental health, but on the other hand, structural social capital turned out not to be a appropriate factor for the prediction of nurses’ mental health.
Conclusion : We suggest that hospital administration board should pay attention to and take care of social capital so that nurses could keep up decent work regardless of work-related stress.

Hassanpour Dehkordi A[1]
Received: 15 May, 2014 Accepted: 23 Jul, 2014
Abstract
Background ;Aims: Self – care concept is one of the components of self – care nursing theory. Regarding chronic course of hepatitis, it can cause numerous consequences on various aspects of patient;#39s life. This study aims to clarify the concept of self-care and its attributes, antecedents, and consequences for patients diagnosed with chronic hepatitis
Materials ; Methods: This approach has been used to analyze the concept of Rodgers evolution. The literature published between 1989 and 2011 in the care of nursing and non-nursing (health, medicine, etc.) were selected for searching scientific databases. After applying the selection criteria and final sampling, 2 books, 65 articles and a graduate thesis in the area of nursing and non-nursing (health, medicine, etc.) were selected and analyzed.
Results: The analysis showed that the concept of self-care is a complex concept and the concept of self-care in patients with hepatitis is a process of conceptual nature, and its self-management, self-monitoring, education and interaction revealed as well. Here are three types of antecedents including the clients (self-efficacy, self-esteem), the system (resources, social and cultural factors), and the care providers (participation). Self-care is very extensive and influenced by personal factors (client) system, and care providers. In this study the concept of self-care outcomes, included stress reduction, increasing of the quality of life, changing lifestyles, increasing knowledge and awareness, increasing patient adaptation and acceptance of the disease.
Conclusion: The results showed that the concept of self-care during the last 22 years in chronic patients, especially patients with chronic hepatitis has been evolved. And the nurses have been able to significantly enhance their knowledge in the areas of self-care for their patients, so that nurses care teams could have considerable influence on their patients. As a result, this leads to an increase in the authority and nursing profession independency.
