Generally, mothers' level of satisfaction with quality of midwifery care and the respect of their rights are low. The aim of this study was to determine the influence of implementation of "respect of patients' rights" workshop for midwives on women's viewpoint about respect of patients' rights.   Method and materials: This semi-experimental study was conducted among 400 parturient women who give birth vaginally with the assistance of midwives in Fajer Hospital of Mako. Purposive sampling was used. Two hundred parturient women were selected as control group and, after implementation of patients' rights workshop for midwives, another two hundred parturient women were selected as cases. Data gathering was performed by a researcher-made questionnaire. Data analysis was performed by SPSS (ver 11.5) software.   Results: The findings of this study showed that psycho-social and physical rights of 70% and 89% (respectively) of the cases were respected "very well". Whereas, only 2% of control group believed that their psycho-social rights were respected at "good" level and 96.5% of them believed that their psycho-social rights were respected at "medium" level. Therefore, it seems necessary to pursue these groups for medical indices, including intestinal parasites. The aim of current study was to determine the prevalence of parasitic infestations in the personnel of rehabilitation centers of Urmia as an efficient step in promotion of community health.   Materials and methods: In this descriptive cross-sectional study, fecal specimens and scotch tapes were gathered from all personnel of private and governmental rehabilitation centers, twice daily for two days, and examined by two methods: direct and formalin ether. Demographic characteristics of participants were gathered by a questionnaire.   Results: Findings of this study revealed that 34% of study population had at least one intestinal parasite, among them 13% had more than one parasite. Relative frequency of various kinds of parasites were as follows: Entamoeba coli 16%, Blastocystis Hominis 16.2%, Iodamoeba Butchli 9%, and Entamoeba Hartmani, Giardia Lambelia, and Oxiur 2.3%. There was not any significant relationship between participants' age and level of education with prevalence of intestinal parasitic infestation.   Discussion: Considering the relatively high prevalence of intestinal infestations in the personnel of private and governmental rehabilitation centers of Urmia and the likelihood of transmission of parasites to family members, it seems that this is a serious challenge for promotion of family health. Therefore, our recommendations are continuing education of health care workers regarding ways of parasites transmission and preventive measures, careful supervision on the execution of sanitary regulations in the health centers, education of patients and their families, and treatment of patients.}, Keywords = {Incidence, Intestinal parasites, Personnel of rehabilitation center, Urmia}, volume = {5}, Number = {3}, pages = {101-106}, publisher = {Urmia University of Medical Sciences}, url = {http://unmf.umsu.ac.ir/article-1-39-en.html}, eprint = {http://unmf.umsu.ac.ir/article-1-39-en.pdf}, journal = {Nursing And Midwifery Journal}, issn = {2717-0306}, eissn = {2717-0306}, year = {2007} } @article{ author = {haghighaty, F. and shariat, S. and mostofi, A.}, title = {COMPARISON AND STUDY OF HORMON THERAPIES EFFICTS IN INFERTILE WOMAN ON PERIADONTAL INDICES}, abstract ={  Introduction: Gingivitis and periodontitis are two of the most common mouth and teach diseases. The primary cause of these diseases is existence of bacterial plaque on teeth surfaces which occurs as a result of poor oral hygiene. Hormonal imbalance which can result in progression of inflammation and periodontal disease in susceptible patients is one of the secondary etiologic factors.   Considering with regard the significance and prevalence of periodontal disease and its complications, imperative solutions must be found to prevent and control it. The purpose of this study is to estimate the prevalence and the type of periodontal changes and its indices following hormonal therapy for early prevention of periodontal disease.   Methods and Materials : This is a cohort study with a blind sampling using a questionnaire. Clinical examination was done on 72 patients, 42 patients made the case group and 30 patients were included in the control group. The criteria for these patients in the study was existence of infertility and periodontal disease receiving hormone therapy in the case group whereas, the patients in the control group did not receive any hormone therapy. The questionnaire was prepared according to the related indices and was given to the patients after its authenticity was confirmed by the experts. Clinical examinations was done in 3 and 6 months interval, primary indices were measured and recorded and the data was analyzed by SPSS software and Chi-square analyzing.   Results: Based on Rumford periodontal index, after 3 months, there was a significant relationship between progression of periodontal disease and use of drug for treatment of infertility in the case group whereas the periodontal indices of the control group remained unchanged. So, diagnosis of risk factors of child abuse and proper interventions can be an effective step decreasing child abuse prevalence.   Materials and methods: This cross sectional-descriptive research, carried out on 203 nursing students of Yazd and Zanjan Islamic Azad University. Data gathering tool was a 2-part questionnaire: 1- demographic data 2- neglection and abuse history (emotional and physical). After completing questionnaires by samples, the data were analyzed.   Findings: Results showed the samples had experienced emotional abuse (23%), physical abuse (16%), emotional neglection (9%) and physical neglection (3%) an intermediate level in their childhood. There was a significant relationship between the number of brothers and emotional abuse, economic status and physical abuse and emotional neglection, divorced parents and emotional neglection, addicted father and emotional neglection and abuse and also physical neglection, addicted mother and physical abuse, father with psychological disorders and emotional abuse and neglection.
