  Investigates complaints incoming to the medical council of West Azarbaijan province during 1385 to 1389     Hemmati Maslakpak M [1] , Baghaie R [2] , Yosefi M [3] ,GHavami H [4] *     Received: 9 Dec , 2012 Accepted: 18 Feb , 2013     Abstract:   Background & Aims : Increased complaints from the medical team and medical staff, and increased risk of therapeutic measures in recent years, was the most important necessity of performing this study. The purpose of this study was to determine complaints against physicians, dentists, pharmacists, nurses and midwives to the medical council of Urmia in the years 1385 to 1389 of the number, distribution and causes of complaint.   Materials & Methods : In this retrospective study, all cases referred to the medical council of Urmia in the years 1385 to 1389 were analyzed. Data collection instrument was a form containing information that was completed by a professional member of medical council of Urmia. Data were analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistical tests.   Result : During five years, 359 complaints from the medical team and medical staff had proposed. Total complaints had increased from 37 cases in 1385 to 129 cases in 1389. Verdict of the majority (78.8 percent) cases was prohibiting the prosecution and exoneration.   Conclusion: From the medical system's expert’s opinion, most of the medical team and medical staff that their complaint had been performed were exonerated.
