Background & Aims: Readmission to hospital because of the impact on the cost and quality of hospital care and Impose an additional burden on the healthcare system, Is an important priority for hospital managers. The aim of Study Was Assessment of prevalence of readmission in admitted ward of Tehran Oil Company’s hospital in 2016. Material & Methods: This descriptive-analytic study was performed on 260 patients hospitalized in Tehran Oilfield Hospital. The information collection tool included information such as age, gender, education, hospitalization, reasons for initial hospitalization, number of admissions, reasons for admission and hospitalization costs. Data analysis was done using SPSS version 21 and using Chi-square tests. Results: The results showed that 20% of the total hospitalization in 2016 was re-admitted. The rate of hospitalization according to the frequency of admission showed that 74.6% of the patients referred to the hospital for the second time, 12.3% for the third time and 13.1% for more than three times to follow the treatment.
