Background & Aims: Stress not only disrupts the health of mothers, but also disrupts the relationship between mother and child. This study was conducted to determine The Effect of Family Support Based Counselling on Postnatal Perceived Stress and mother-child bonding in Nulliparous Women Reffered to Health Centers in Urmia in 2016-2017. Materials & Methods: The randomized clinical trial study was conducted in 2016. A group of 330 nulliparous women randomly allocated in intervention (165) and control (165) groups. Data collection tools were personal information form, Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), Postpartum Bonding Questionnaire and Postnatal Perceived Stress Inventory. Results: The findings revealed a significant increase in total postpartum perceived stress and in it’s all subscales including Fatigue, Relationship with baby, Relationship with body, Feeding the baby, Future plan, Relationshi with partner and in total mother-child bonding and in it’s all subscales including general bonding difficulties, Threatened rejection, infant-focused anxiety and incipient abuse. But there is no significant difference after intervention in control group. Conclusion: Consultation with newly delivered women, during postpartum period reduces the perceived stress and mother-child transplantation problems. Counseling based on family support is suggested.
