cardiovascular disease. The main objective of this study was to compare strategies for coping with stress, resilience and optimism in normal people and cardiac patients in Rasht city. Materials & Methods: The method of causal research is comparative and cross-sectional. The statistical population consisted of 944 people with heart disease referred to the specialist heart center of Dr. Heshmat Rasht City in 2016- 2017. The sample size is 200 people, including 100 cardiac patients and 100 normal individuals matched with the experimental group that were selected by available sampling. In this study, the Crisis Stress Questionnaire, Life Orientation Test (Optimism), and Conner and Davidson Suspension Questionnaire were used. Data were analyzed by multivariate analysis of variance and SPSS version 20 software.
