 The relationship between Psychological Empowerment and job satisfaction of nursing Staff    SM Mirkamli, [1] PhD, N Nastiezaie, [2] MA    Received: 3 April, 2010 Accepted: 1 June, 2010 Abstract   Background & Aims: T he only competitive advantage of any organization (including health care centers) is people and their role in organization success. Empowerment and providing job satisfaction are essential. The aim of the present study is to review the relationship between psychological ability with job satisfaction in nursing staff.   Materials & M ethods: In this descriptive- correlational study the samples were selected randomly. Data gathering tools were three questioners. The data were analyzed by T-test, pierson correlation coefficient and multiple regression .   Results: W hile the average job satisfaction of the nursing staff was 3.847, that is indicative of a relatively desirable job satisfaction, the most dominant dissatisfaction item was related to low payment. The average psychological ability was 4.278 that shows high ability. The result of correlation coefficient indicated that there is significant relation between psychological ability and job satisfaction in nursing staff. The effect of multiple regression also indicated that there was a significant relation in reliability and trust variable with changes of job satisfaction.   Conclusion : With regard to relation between psychological ability and job satisfaction in nursing staff, it is recommended that the managers of therapeutic-hygienic centers provide conditions that staff consider their job worthy and have inner interest toward it believe in their ability and capacity for doing delegated duties and have enough freedom and independence in work environment.
