A Survey on Quality of Life in patients with Peptic Ulcer Disease in Sanandaj, Iran Nadrian H* [1] , Falahi A [2] , Shoja fard J [3] ,Moradzadeh R [4] , Nadrian E [5] Received: 16 July, 2010 Accepted: 25 Oct, 2010 Abstract: Background & Aims : Peptic Ulcer Disease (PUD) is an ulcer that mainly occurs in the stomach or proximal duodenum . PUD can affect patients’ quality of life (QOL). The aim of this study was to examine the quality of life in patients with PUD in Sanandaj. Materials & Methods : This cross sectional analytical study included 120 outpatients with PUD referring to Besat Hospital in Sanandaj. They were selected through non-probability sampling. The patients completed the Medical Outcome Survey-Short Form -20 questionnaire and the data were analyzed by SPSS . The statistical analysis of the data included Sprearman’s Rho correlation, t- test, and one-way ANOVA. Results : The respondents had a low quality of life relating to the dimensions of pain (68.5%), and general health perceptions (30.2%) however, their physical health status showed better scores (70.7%).
